New Year's Golf Resolutions

We invite you to pick one—or a few—challenges to carry with you onto the course.

There’s no pressure and no scorecard required—just a fun way to start the season with intention and joy.

Lighthearted

  • I resolve to spend less time looking for lost balls… and more time pretending I meant to hit it there.

  • I will buy fewer golf balls in bulk and stop acting surprised when I need them.

  • I resolve to remember that a round without a birdie is still better than a day without golf.

  • I will stop blaming my clubs, the wind, the sun, and Mercury in retrograde. (Mostly.)

Goal-Oriented

  • I resolve to play at least one round each month focused on strategy, not just score.

  • I will commit to practicing one part of my game I usually avoid (hello, putting).

  • I resolve to learn the rules better—and use them to my advantage.

  • I resolve to play confidently from the first tee, no matter who’s watching.

Friendship

  • I resolve to play at least one round with someone new in the league.

  • I resolve to cheer louder for great shots—especially when they’re not mine.

  • I will remember that laughter with friends is as important as the final score.

  • I resolve to be the kind of playing partner I’d love to be paired with.

Perspective

  • I resolve to enjoy the walk, the views, and the company—no matter the score.

  • I will leave frustration on the last green and not carry it to the 19th hole.

  • I resolve to be grateful for the time we get to spend playing this game together.

  • I will remember that golf is a gift, not a test.

2026 Ace of Aces Tournament

This year's Ace of Aces Tournament will be held on Thursday, January 15th.
For our new participants this is a super simple tournament.  Pick up your Ace of Aces score card at the starters desk and go out and have a great round.  Keep score as you normally do and at the end of the round, add up your score, make sure it agrees with Golf Genius, sign your card, have your partner sign, and hand your score card to me (Cindy Fiorillo) or Wendy Siegle as soon as your round is finished.

On your score card you will have colorful happy faces which designates your play.  If you have a Blue happy face you will be competing with your GROSS score against the other GROSS winners.  If you have a Purple happy face you will be competing with your NET score against the other NET winners.  If you have both happy faces you will be competing in both the GROSS game and the NET games.  For all competitors in the NET game, we will use the same handicap that is on the January 15th tee sheet.

Winners will be announced at the general meeting on January 22nd.  We will have prizes for the first, second, and third place winners in both the GROSS and the NET competitions.   Visit the Winners & Results/Monthly Aces on our website to see this year’s contenders.
